October's Lunch Menu
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Our current Student Events Coordinator will be moving on to the middle school with her child at the end of this school year, so we are in need of some parents/guardians willing to take the lead on our student events. These events include Santa's Workshop (December), Valentine Grams (February), Penny Wars (Spring), and Field Day (May)! Our wonderful Student Events Coordinator will train you this year, so you will feel better prepared to organize the event(s) next year.
We cannot run these amazing events for our students without your help. If you are interested in organizing ANY or ALL student events for Ghent Elementary, or just have further questions, please call or text Ms. Arvon (304-673-4744) or Mrs. Lafferty (304-573-9543)!

Ice Cream Fridays are back starting this week (9/29)! Ice Cream is $1 and must be turned in to the classroom teacher before 9am. Money will not be collected after 9am. All proceeds go toward the GES general fund.
One of our school-wide goals this year is to decrease our chronic absences by 2%. To help us reach our goal, our Attendance Team would like to introduce you to our Attendance Incentives for 2023-2024!
All runs for Bus 258 are canceled for today. If your child rides this bus and cannot make it to school, please send a note with them upon their return stating the bus did not run. We will excuse the absence.

Bus 97 is having some issues. The garage has sent a new bus to pick up the students. Students are still at the school. Please be patient as we await the arrival of the new bus. I will update when the bus leaves the school.

Attendance Tip:
Please remember to send in excuses when your child is absent from school. Parents are able to send in 5 parent notes per semester. These notes are for 5 individual dates of absences. If a student misses 3 days in a row, sending in a parent note for those dates counts as 3 parent notes, not just 1. If you have any questions, please contact the office.
