This is a message from Ghent Elementary for parents of upcoming Kindergarten students for the 2023-2024 school year.
Just a reminder that students entering Kindergarten are required to show proof of the immunization before the shaft of the school year per WV State Code. Immunization requirements can be found on the Raleigh County Schools website, or a copy is available at the school.
An updated wellness exam and dental exam for both incoming Kindergarten and all upcoming 2nd graders should also be turned into the school nurse at the start of the new school year.

This is a reminder that for the safety of our students and staff members, Parent Pick-Up vehicles cannot begin to drive around the building until a staff member gives the 'okay.' Please pay attention to staff members as they often need to stop Parent Pick-Up traffic for late bus loading. It is a matter of safety that all parents and guardians adhere to this procedure. April 24-28 is Kindness Week!
TARDIES: Please be mindful of the school day start time when dropping off your child in the morning. Students preferably should be here at 8:30 so they have time to eat and unpack before the school day begins at 8:40. Students arriving at 8:40 should be signed-in in the office. Have a great spring break and we'll see you on the 17th.
Grade reports were sent home yesterday with the exception of 5th grade which are going home today. Reports were printed on green paper.
Friday, March 24th is Jump Rope for Heart. All students need to wear tennis shoes.
The Read-A-Thon is tomorrow, March 21st! Bring your blanket, a pillow or stuffed animal (it must fit in your backpack), a book, and a water bottle! Read on Friends!
Read-A-Thon money is due Friday, March 17.
